The IR LED (or infrared light-emitting diode) Bit sends out light with longer wavelengths than visible light, similar to the light in your remote control. It’s invisible to the eye, but many digital cameras can see it. Try using it to activate the light sensor or remote trigger.

One good way to see if they are emitting IR light is to make a simple circuit of a Power Bit, Button Bit, and an IR LED bit.

You will want to view the LED of the circuit through a web camera on your laptop, or the front facing camera (your selfie camera) on your phone. After turning the lights in the room down or off, press and hold the button on the circuit and check the camera feed.

Do you see a light on your screen? If so, the IR bits are working. If not, we can explore additional troubleshooting options.
